Waterway to Orbit
This is so neat. On February 8th 2010, STS-130—the 32nd shuttle mission to the ISS—launched off the planet, and photographer James Vernacotola captured it. The image has an exposure of 132 seconds so you can see the shuttle’s long, graceful arc towards the east and its mirror image in the water below. This was taken from the Intracoastal Waterway Bright in Florida, 115 miles north of the shuttle’s launch site at the Kennedy Space Center.
